Clinical Education And Community Care
The Massage Therapy Teaching Clinics are part of NYCHP’s academic health care teaching clinics. They provide community treatments while serving as a clinical internship setting for student practitioners.
All treatments are performed by student practitioners under the direct supervision of licensed clinical faculty. Individual experiences vary, and treatment outcomes are not guaranteed.

Massage Therapy Modalities
Specific modalities depend on student enrollment, course sequencing, and current clinical rotations. Confirm availability before scheduling.
Asian Bodywork (Tui Na)
Traditional Chinese Medicine–informed bodywork using pressure, friction, movement, and touch along defined points and channels. Appointments are one hour, and patients wear a gown or loose clothing.
Swedish Massage
Soft-tissue techniques may include effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, vibration, and friction. The student practitioner selects techniques under direct faculty supervision.
Additional Modalities
Clinical rotations may include Sports Massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Lymphatic Massage, and Pregnancy Massage. Availability is not constant from trimester to trimester.
