Individualized Herbal Consultation
Chinese herbal medicine is a longstanding practice within Traditional Chinese Medicine. The NYCHP Herbal Medicine Teaching Clinic offers individualized assessment and recommendation appointments to community members within a supervised educational setting.
Consultations are conducted by advanced student practitioners under the direct supervision of licensed clinical faculty. Individual experiences vary, and no clinical outcome is guaranteed.

Individual Intake
The student practitioner reviews relevant health information and the reason for the consultation.
Faculty Supervision
Licensed clinical faculty directly review the assessment and recommendation process.
Herbal Recommendation
When appropriate, recommendations may involve traditional or modern herbal formulations.
Formulations may include teas, pills, granules, powders, tinctures, extracts, or topical preparations. The on-campus Herbal Dispensary carries selected products; some items are dispensed only after consultation and professional recommendation.

Discuss Appropriateness And Safety
Patients may ask whether herbal medicine is appropriate for respiratory, digestive, urinary, dermatologic, emotional-wellness, pain, or other health concerns. The consultation process considers the individual’s circumstances, including current medications and other care.
Herbal products may interact with medications or other treatments. Patients should disclose current medications and consult the appropriate licensed health professional. Recommendations do not guarantee improvement or cure.

The Master of Science in Acupuncture and the Master of Science in Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization are programmatically accredited by ACAHM. ACAHM does not accredit the undergraduate portions or the Massage Therapy program, and ACAHM accreditation does not include institutional participation in Title IV federal student financial aid programs.
New York College of Health Professions is institutionally accredited by NECHE. The applicable degree programs are registered with the New York State Education Department.
